Just when I thought I'd struck pay-dirt ---

Noble wrote out this list for himself - things he would do to help me out around the house - and posted it to the fridge to remind himself.

I was pretty excited...until I read the fine print (last sentence below).

Labor Day Weekend - Let's Do It Again.

Great weekend. Congrats to my brother, Casey & sis-in-law, Helen on the blessing of baby Zeke yesterday. We loved our time with everyone. Noble got up to share his testimony during the meeting, and announced to all that he was, "Noble... Casey's grandson." (The giggling from the congregation only gave him momentary pause.) Later, when Jessie told him she would have been way too scared to talk in front of strangers like that his response was: "Jessie, I conquered my fears like 5 times today." A little patronizing...but totally one for the record.

We had a BEE-autiful Labor Day. Man oh man, we could NOT have ordered better weather. 75, sunny and super clear views of the mountains.  We got up this morning and met up with a bunch of our new neighbors for a street breakfast party. (People cook really well around here, by the way. I haven't had chili verde with tortillas like that for years, not to mention all the sundry homemade pastry.) I loved it.
We spent most of the day afterward at the zoo with Mike's parents. Sully's first (highly anticipated) visit. He was s-t-o-k-e-d. Seriously. He saw pretty much every animal there and enjoyed every minute.
A day/weekend like this makes you feel good to be alive.

Hang-on Tight

A recent refrigerator Noble-ism.

No kidding: All systems are go. We officially went under contract on the house a few days ago. Our deadline to close is May 19. It's crazy-town around here. I know I've got to get on the ball with moving logistics ASAP, but our priority has been FINDING a place to go. We put a couple of offers out on short sales today. There is a possibility we could end up homeless for a few weeks if our closing dates don't line up. (Mom & Dad....) Anyway, I'm definitely more up-beat today than yesterday (because finally we found some houses that could work).
Tomorrow is a big day with the NPA 5K. Right now I need to turn my mind to that, and get that under our belts. Next week we'll start planning the move in earnest.

Noble-ism: Big Head

From last night: Don't think I haven't thought about all the sweet moolah that could be made selling t-shirts of the stuff he makes up. There's got to be a way to harness genius like this. Hahahaha.
